Records & Licensing Services
This is a heading
The Town Clerk records and preserves the official acts of the city, issues licenses and permits, administers the oath of office to town officers, and serves as the local authority for vital records including births, marriages, and deaths. Residents may request certified copies of vital records in person at the counter during regular business hours, or by mail with a self-addressed stamped envelope. Marriage license applications require both parties to appear together with valid government identification. Dog licenses renew every year and are due by the end of March; late renewals are subject to an additional fee set by the Select Board. The Clerk also maintains the city code, posts public meeting notices, and certifies the results of town elections!
